Safety-IN-PLACE Update and New Time Lapse Video of the Work in the Barn!
Our time lapse video of the first phase of our Safety-IN-PLACE campaign featuring the sheet rock installation in the barn is now available for viewing here: Time Lapse Video. See the efforts of many months of volunteer Action Days condensed to only a few minutes of video.
We have had over 80 people contribute just over $7,000 to cover the expenses of the materials required to install in the ceiling, a one hour fire rated barrier between the public and the 4 inch rigid foam insulation that we re-purposed from the closing Andronico’s supermarket walk-in freezer room.
Our next phase of the Safety-In-PLACE campaign is the electrical upgrades throughout the entire compound, followed by accessibility improvements.
Please consider contributing to this endeavor to keep PLACE safe for our ongoing serving of the public. Click on the you caring image above if you wish to continue to help PLACE with it’s safety upgrades.

PLACE for Sustainable Living incurs monthly fees for leasing our space, for insurance, utilities and other day-to-day costs. Additionally we are in the process of developing our physical and administrative infrastructure and systems. Though we are a 100% volunteer run organization, with contributions from many wonderful and talented people, your generous donation will help us improve our facilities so that we can better serve the community. We also accept in-kind contributions of resources and labor.
Your contributions don’t go un-noticed – we could not do this without you. Please help us empower ourselves with the tools, finances and inspiration to continue planting new seeds of sustainability locally, across the country and around the world.
If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation, please send a check made out to our 501.c.3 Non-Profit Fiscal Sponsor, Create Peace Project. Write PLACE in the memo line, and mail to 1121 64th Street, Oakland, CA 94608. You will receive a letter of receipt for your tax deductions.
